HX40's and 35's were originally in Cummins Diesel trucks. I had a 12v cummins that shot 40psi through my stock HX35, and the 40 can do much more. They are designed to be beat to death, but there are cheap knock offs that are not worth anything, but a real HOLSET turbo will not disappoint you. Has anyone ran a VGT turbo on a smaller car? they change housing size basically.... so they spool insanely quick and expand as it goes to add more boost as if it was a bigger turbo. I have never heard of it so I thought i would ask....

I've heard about those as well, but haven't seen anyone run one yet.

My buddy runs 65psi through his HX40 on his Cummins the past two years. I believe it put down 1200-1400 ft/lbs of TQ.

I belive if you get a 35 you want the 7 blade one if you can find one.Flows better then the 8 blade compressor.I wouldn't mind running a 35 on the bullseye housing in my evo.< even though they suck and only cheap *** dsmers run them...what can I say I'm a dsmer at heart still.I guess I just don't see the point of spending a bunch of money on a setup that a cheaper holset setup is just as capable of.Maybe because I am so poor and don't have money to burn

^ I ran the HX52 on my old 92 TSI AWD. It spooled pretty quick on a 2.0, but never got to tune it for full power before the car was sold.
