I know that car. It did about 530whp on pumpgas with fully built engine. That motor will do 600+ with that turbo and ethanol. I have the same turbo without the ceramic ball bearing option and mine does 580whp on e85. Its a TTP built car, not TTR. They are the same people that work on and tune my Evo. Best of luck to you in your search for a new car man.

How about this Evo X? It's slightly modded but what should I look out for with the mods it has?

Also, has anyone dealt with this dealer before? I remember someone saying they bought a white Evo from them.

^^As it sits now, do you think it has been abused?

I'm also looking at an Evo X...lightly modded with around 45k Are there any certain problems or issues I should look out for in the X specifically?

the ttp car looks to be in nice shape, only thing i would be afraid of is how built it is. try and get in touch with the previous owner (it says one owner so that person should be able to tell you all about it), or ttp if that is still possible and find out the history

Do you happen to know who owned the car and if it was well take care of or abused?

Edit: I did not mean to put the "yawning face"

Evo

EVO's are faster, nicer, easier to mod, cheaper to mod, better to mod, and better looking than sti's. Gas mileage varies how you drive. EVO's are just better, Go drive one.

anyone know of/owned/seen this car before?

it says it was the fastest evo on stock turbo and cam....and it has a ton of "burscher" racing stuff, which, im assuming they meant buschur.

also, what's the big deal about the evo xiii vs the evo ix? is having the acd transfercase worth it?

A little less than 2 weeks ago, in this very same thread, we (you and I) discussed the purchase of a used Evo over a series of posts. Other folks chimed in, too, as witnessed by the pages of advice. I also posted the differences between the various generations. Now you're asking the same thing, again. I hope you understand when I say there isn't a whole lot of incentive to keep taking the time to respond, when you don't seem to be absorbing the replies. Good luck.

I have owned a 2004 STI and a 2005 EVO MR and i can tell you that IMO the EVO gets my vote hands down..

The STI got awful gas mileage and i was always in fear with the motor letting loose for them being notoriously weaker...The Evo on the other hand gets great gas mileage and can handle a ton more abuse..Both of these car's had GT30 kits on them for reference

I'll give you my opinion since I have had the ability to drive both cars.

STi - I would say no. NOT because I own an Evo or wanted an Evo for awhile now. Somebody said the gas mileage was bad, I see it as 50/50 between the Evo and STi. The STi handles like ****. Obviously with upgrades and all that it will get better but stock vs. stock it's horrible. The STI, imo is completely plain looking. There is nothing to them and they are a dime a dozen. If you took a day and drove around and compared how many Evo's you saw to STi's, you probably wouldn't want one anymore. The only thing I will give the STi is I did like the interior a little better. JUST the dashboard and gauges, not seating. The Evo seats in my 8 are by far the most comfortable seats I have sat in. The STi seats have don't really have any hold on you when you're sitting in the car. Also, while the STi trannys are stronger 6 speeds, then say, the MR trannys, their motors are not as strong as ours. Once you start pushing higher numbers out of the STi, you're asking for the motor to go. (Not saying that won't happen with any other car). To mod the STi, it will cost you a pretty penny. If you take simple mods you want to do to the Evo, and compare them the SAME way to an STi, you will be paying significantly more with the STi. I remember before I bought my car and the boyfriend still had his STi, he was pissed off comparing mods because for a $1,000 lets say, I could do 2x more in the Evo then he could in the STi.

Evo - handles 10000x better than the STi. I cannot express this enough. Looks meaner, like I stated above, the seats are MUCH more comfortable. You could do more money wise with this car and push a little more at our motors then you could an STi. It's very rare you see Evo's around, (not sure about other areas but in the time I've wanted an Evo, I would say I saw maybe 1 every 2 months compared to an STi that I saw at least once a day).

Ultimately, it's your decision on what you want. Both are VERY fun cars to drive. Both do have their pros and cons as with any car. I've seen people come from an STi to a Evo and vice versa. It's all in what you prefer! Good luck!

Can't deny that boxer rumble though...thats what made me fall in love with my 04' STi. But lately, I have come to realize that sound isn't everything and I'm really wanting more. So here I come, EVO!

The boxer rumble only sounds good at low/mid revs. Anything in the upper half of the rev range just sounds messy.
