I have searched.... But I'm still not sure. I have an 03 with the tall wing, HIDs, Recaro seats without red stitch, 17 Enkei wheels, NO sunroof, power windows. I don't think it's a GSR or RS. Is it just a regular Evo VIII?

You can always find out the exact model of your car on the registration or if you ever ran a car proof or carfax on it as well.

whats the difference between rs and gsr on the 03

 

I don't think there's an RS in '03. Either way, the RS has no radio, less sound deadening, no ABS, no wing, black plastic door handles instead of color-matched handles, and no AC if I'm not mistaken.

 

I believe rs stand for rally sport...which is gutted evo. Meant for pure racing without the clutter of amenities.

 

There was no RS in 03. In 03, there was only the choice between sunroof/no sunroof and tall/low spoiler. In 04 the RS came out, and you could choose between a regular GSR or the SSL (sun, sound, leather) package.

 

Technically I believe the GSR was only started when the Evo X came out, but I could be wrong, that's just what I've heard.

 

Just checking out this thread and I have also been wondering what my 03 Evo is. It has a sunroof, leather recaro's, and the big wing.

 

You have a GSR with SSL (Sight, Sound, Leather).

 

^^^i dont have the sound package tho which is what i was kind of confused about.

 

FWIW, there was no SSL in 03.
