My IX had less than 6 miles on it when I drove it off the lot, it has ~19.5K now, and I've had to replace nothing. This is what it looks like. Does that help?

You have to look at these cars as individuals. Evos are modified and the parts switched like almost nothing else around. A 5 year old car can have 6 owners, each of whom modified the thing with the help of his buddy in a mall parking lot, and drove it untuned until it was sold. You can have a beat to crap car with 30K miles and a great one with 80K. If you don't know the platform, and I feel confident saying this knowledge won't come from a thread on a forum, do yourself a favor and locate a shop in your area that specializes in Evolutions. Not an import shop, not a general speed shop, but one that specifically works on Evos. Then, have them check out the car for you. Good luck.

Do you see any sticky threads called "Common Problems" like you do on other forums? No?

...to help me decide if i want to get one
Heh, have you looked at insurance?

If you're simply looking for a car, even a cool car, this is not for you. Not at this stage in the game. You might get lucky and find one of the six unmolested, perfectly maintained Evolutions left in North America, but the odds of that are slim to none. Consider a new EvoX, or the multitude of other great cars on the market. Good luck.

I didn't tell you to search. In fact, I took the time to explain what it is you're facing, something you seem to have zero appreciation for.

im asking for owners to say what they had go wrong with their car.
I'm sure we all understood that the first time around.

ive looked at websites they say 50/50.
What?

H-e-l-l-o. You're on a discussion forum. That's all we have - personal stories. There are entire long-running threads dedicated to what you're asking and the answer is always the same - there are no common problems, aside from the owners and several service bulletins addressing earlier cars. I tried helping you and not even a grain of thanks. It's the opposite, like you're angry at me for taking the time out of my day to lend a hand to a newbie. Unbelievable.

OP: just so you know, posts on this thread won't count for you, just saying..
now, like you've been told, the evo is a great car with no major factory known problems, most of the time when something goes wrong it is due to the use of cheap parts, cheap labor, cheap tune, etc etc etc.
Look the evos for sale here, most of them are well built, kept, etc etc, good luck

Nothing better than a civic for a daily driver, but if you are looking for a fun/fast car with plenty of modification options and a huge market for performance parts...evo is the way to go!
