I've been using Royal Purple 10-30 these past oil changes. A guy with an evo said royal purple has newer additives and he would prefer not to use it. I dont know if he heard something about it, but now he has me thinking. What do you guys think?

It really depends on what you do with the car, honestly...

 

I've never seen that oil. Is it synthetic?
Did some quick research on ^ oil, and now I want to try it out

 

Well I daily drive my car, but not alot because my job is like 5-10 minutes from my house lol
And well I'm on some bolt ons with 60,000 miles as of right now.

Everybody is going to have their own opinion on what oil is the "Best". When I selected an oil I just looked at the testing FP did, http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...otor%20Oil.pdf . I personally decided to go with Brad Penn because its made locally, its always in stock at a shop near my house, and its relatively low priced.

 

No racing at all. Just like to wot sometimes haha

 

Id recommend ths too, actually.... but I use rotella 15w-40 for daily and racing.. I use that because I can't afford amsoil or bradpenn with as much as I drive. Hahah

So does this mean that no one preffers to use Royal Purple?
I don't really have a problem (money wise) buying this oil.
Does no one use it because its expensive or because its no good?

 

I ran Royal purple 1 time in mine. After about 1,500, I had a lifter ticking. When I changed it out, it was extremely thick, which I'm not really a fan of. I switched to Amsoil 10w-40 and I love it!

this is a good thread!! i currently have just bolt ons on 93 oct and a tune. i plan on upgrading injectors and cams along with dual maps (93 and e85) im a casual weekend racer and have a happy foot during the week . car has 86k miles running strong always have used mobil 1. should i keep using it or switch to something else since i plan on running e85 ocasionally?
