06 MR vs 08 GSR

Can anyone comment on the performance and re-sale differences between a 2006 MR (6MT) and 2008 GSR (5MT)? I'm in the market for an Evo, currently looking at the 08 with 49k miles for 23,000 and 06 with 37k miles for 24,000... similar condition, etc.

I would worry less about resale and more about which car suits you better. They are very different cars

They are completely different cars... the IX is going to be lighter, more raw, with a crappier interior etc. It doesn't come with a lot of luxuries. The X is a bit more soft, and comfortable. I personally think the 06 Evo IX is the best Evo ever made, but mine has no roof/carpets/door panels/stereo/ac so your mileage may vary.

Dealerships around me can't seem to move evo X's (used or new). Not saying its a bad car or anything just not selling. I'm constantly seeing WTB threads for evo IX's.

The IX is considered the last of the real Evo's.

If you are hauling kids and family get an X if not get a IX. Both are awesome but depends what you need it for.

Depends. A family could use the trunk space of the IX.

IX for sure. 10 is a great car don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, its not a true evo. Drive both if you can, see what you like.

I own a 9 second evo 8 and a mild bolt on evo x. I like the looks of the X and I bought it to be my daily. If I could take the rockford stereo and the cruise control and put it in a evo IX it would be perfect. The evo x motor blew up on me about a month ago. The evo x just doesn't seem to handle abuse like the 8 and 9.

The IX is the more saught after model for enthusiasts. It is more raw, lighter, and gives more feedback.

The X is a great car too. Technically it performs better off the lot, but it isn't the same driving experience.
