help: 60k maintanance
Hello evom
I need 60k maintanance soon, and
should I go to Mitsubishi dealer who is really not kind ?
Or, can I just go to local shop such as Midas?
I read some posts, and one of them says... 4g63 timing belt should be replaced by a evo specialist.
How did you guys do 60k maintanance?

If you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself.
If not and don't want to risk it, go to the dealer.
Usually all of my customers get the timing service kit from mitsubishiparts.net.

Obviously a Mitsubishi dealership will likely know what to do (assuming that they deal with Evos) while having access to the necessary parts, but again, not all dealerships are created equal. Some may not see many Evos and won't know what to do. Some may charge at stealership rates, so get a quote ahead of time.
I would stay away from local shops (unless you know the owner or have heard good things about them from other people with Evos or at least cars that appeal to the enthusiast demographic) since their experience with Evos may be limited, but specialty shops are also a good option.
It's not a cheap service, so depending on the place, expect to spend somewhere between $800-1000. Any higher than that, and you may want to shop around more.

Have a Dealer do it, unless you want your balance shaft 180 degrees out, and then have to be re-done, because alot of shops will skip that part and just hope it's right. If you do enough reading you can do it yourself, but make sure your confident and fully understand it.

i plan on doing mine myself. i kinda think that sometimes the difficulty of the timing belt change is exaggerated here.
