How can you tell the difference or identify the GSR(EVO8) and MR(EVO8) other then the six and five speed.? Or if the six speed is converted to a five?

MR has aluminium roof and the GSR has a steel roof.

 

AL roof, BBS Wheels, Bilsteins, MR Badging, Optional GG color, Vortex Generator, Optional Zero Lift kit, 6-Speed.

All assuming we are talking an VIII here

 

ok thxs guys. yea i just bought an evo and the vin runs it as a MR. but every thing seems like a gsr. 5speed it has fins by the attenna. fins are add on?

 

Fins=Vortex Generator. I believe the VG is standard on the MR like GSRboi80 said

 

The vortex generator is standard on an MR. Another thing to look at is to see if the headlights are HID and has the leveling motor switch and fog lights as only VIII MR's and SSL's had that. I'm assuming it's not an SSL as you never mentioned a sunroof or leather.

If your car has a sunroof your roof is not aluminum.

 

It it's yellow it's my car. No it's not an Aluminum roof if it's got the factory Sunroof - unless you cut the AL roof up yourself.

 

 

Real simple, get a magnet and put it to your roof.

 

Feels and sounds different?? That sounds dubious at best.

 

After the magnet test, please post a pic of your roof from inside the cabin! I love to see custom stuff!
