Current updates:
Suspension was corrected. I now am running MR Bilsteins on a set of Swift sport lowering springs. Handling is now more comparable than how it was stock, which is what I wanted.

out:

I also chose to lose the RO-Ja R2-5 rims for something more "stock looking". I really like the look of the BBS SE rims, so I found a set early on when I was looking for rims on the forums.

My VERY first cosmetic mod was a set of authentic "Ralliart" mud flaps from the UK. This being a "rally car", it was a mod i've had planned since the inception of the car.

I also picked up on the forum the OEM sport meter gauge, again going for that "stock look". I went with the radio relocation kit as well. Oil temp sensor is something I still have to pick up but the kit will be fully installed when the car is dyno'd in the spring.
before:

after:

I've also fully detailed the car with Chemical Guys car products... compounds, polishes, sealants and waxes. I've used a LOT of detailing products in the last couple of years, but this setup is by far the best i've used. I'm very satisfied with the results. I also picked up some "Dr. ColorChip" to correct the few rock chips that existed on the front bumper. If you didn't know where they were, the ColorChip completely corrects it.

I used the V series products, hit it with a layer of JetSeal 109 then completed it all with Lava wax. I used to use the Meguiar's 105/205 combination but this is just as comparable. I use a Griot's random orbital.

I like the current setup. Car is looking phenomenal. I have a stock IX BOV to install so that I can lose the GFB BOV that's currently installed.
Sound makes it sound a bit "ricey" but I think the stock IX will be put into place once I dyno the car. I just want a basic tune done at first, with the current set of modifications, then in the future, I want to do the MAP switch and do an e85 conversion.
cell phone pictures, and the lighting wasn't the best...

Next spring, after the car comes out of storage, I have a plan to get a set of Enkei NT03's off of a friend, have my BF Goodrich KDW tires mounted on them from my Ro_ja's. I then have a wicked white Vortex Generator that will also be installed, then, I want to look for a set of VII taillights and a badge-less, wingless trunk to trial out. Just a few simple things here and there, overall I just can't wait to ENJOY the vehicle that I've been longing for for some time... i'm VERY satisfied with the car at this time, it's so far above and beyond just about ANY other car i've ever driven.

turning this into a bit of a mini-build thread... I just ordered a NEW WW SE lip for the car, to be installed next Spring. I think I may go ahead as well and do the JDM rear bumper sometime this next season as well. Big sales on it right now... and it looks so much better than the USDM stock rear fascia.

Update!!!!
On the weekend of Aug. 23rd I was finally able to make appointments for my 2006 wicked white Lancer Evolution IX GSR in preparation for the All-Mitsubishi cookout on Sunday Aug. 25th! I made appointments at RS Motors in Burnsville, MN. and with Jeff the Alignment Guy in Golden Valley, MN. both are VERY respected shops within the Twin Cities area. I live 65 miles North of the Duluth/Superior area, and the Twin Cities is approx. a 3 1/2 to 4hr drive for me. It has been an almost 3 year wait to get a car to RS Motors, which is where I always said I wanted to bring my Evo once I purchased it. RS Motors did NOT disappoint!
The car was purchased by me June 9, 2012 from a private party in Brooklyn Park, MN with 31,600 miles on it. The car had some slight bolt ons and was overall a very clean car. I had been looking for over 2yrs for just the right Evo IX, and I was VERY lucky to find one so close, and within the state.
First up was RS Motors on Friday the 23rd. I left my house at exactly 6am in order to get to the shop right away! I met up with Josh Dinh, who frequents Ron's shop quite a bit, and we headed over to RS for my very first Dyno day!!

Current engine modifications of the car:
Tanabe Concept G blue full TBE
Titek turbo outlet
Myne Tubular headers
Injen intake with UICP and LICP
AMS intercooler
Go Fast Bits Stealth BOV
Ron took AMAZING care of the car, and to my surprise we found that the car was NOT running the stock MAP. It had previously been tuned, something the previous owner was not aware of, as I did ask if the car had been tuned. The car's first dyno run was 281hp and 262tq at 7203 RPM running 14.7PSI. I had to run the car on 91 non oxy as 93 and e85 is not readily available. The closest 93 octane station is 26 miles away, one way and the closet e85 station is 65 miles away, one way.
Ron stated that the current tune was pretty good, but I did want to get a bit more out of it. In order to do that, we needed to find an EBC for the car, to run more boost out of the stock IX turbo. So, Josh, JJ and myself decided to head over to Grimmspeed and pick up a 3-port BSC. Thanks for tagging along JJ!!

It was SO GREAT to hear that Grimmspeed had a shop in the Twin Cities. It's only 1 exit away from where JJ works! Who knew it was so close to Ron's shop either? about a half hour away! Ron installed the EBC, did a few more runs and got the car dialed in!

After about 2 dozen pulls, the car's final numbers where in! 298hp and 296tq at 7157RPM at 23.2PSI. An increase of over 30tq!! Great work!! Ron took AMAZINGLY great care of my car, and I wouldn't blink twice about bringing the car back for more work... which is in the works!! Ron had the car as high as 309hp, but dialed it down to a nice, safe, reliable setup, which is exactly what I want it at. For my next round, I'd like to pick up some injectors and fuel pump, and get a triple MAP setup on the car for 91, 93 and e85. I'd sure like to safely get the car to around 350hp on 93, and 400hp on e85. All numbers that are relatively safe and reliable for Ron and RS motors!
Next up I had all the fluids changed out, both diffs, the transfer case and the transmission fluid. I also had Ron install my OEM sport meter, since I had purchased it used. It hadn't come with the oil sensor, so I have to wait to see if I can find one.

Then Saturday came around at it was time for an alignment. When I purchased the car, it came with TEIN Mono-flex coil overs, which were NOT to my liking. I have since had them replaced with Bilstein shocks with Swift sport lowering springs. I wanted a bit softer ride, and closer to stock. The Bilsteins I picked up from Mike (SmokingTires) and have only around 3k on them, I got a great deal! The ties are stock Yoko Advans that I picked up from Howie (SnakeByte) last year.

If you notice in the above picture, how flat the car looks, I used white plasti-dip on the front fascia, lip, fenders and hood to prevent further stone chips. With the car having an aluminum hood and fenders, it's quite prone to stone chips from highway driving, as I've seen on many Evos at various car shows. I took every precaution I could to save the car from such a fate.

after some banging and clanging, Jeff got the car setup. I could immediately tell the difference. I'm very satisfied with his setup and work, and his new workshop is easy to find and well set up.

Up next was getting the car all cleaned up for the car show on Sunday! a HUGE thanks to Bill and Josh who helped me get it all cleaned up! We used the foam cannon from Chemical Guys and some Mr. Pink to get it washed up, polished a few spots with a Flex 3407 and some Wolfgang 3.0 swirl remover and then 2 layers of Blacklight and 2 layers of Wet wax from Obsessive Detail!
Up next, it's CAR SHOW TIME!!
Sunday came around, and we headed out around 10am. It was such an AWESOME sight rolling in... my wicked white IX, Josh's wicked white X and Bill's octane blue X. Some VERY clean looking cars! The show was hotter than Africa, but luckily we came prepared, with a canopy! The show was amazing, with some great Mitsubishis! I don't think as many cars came that were signed up, but it was still an awesome event to be involved in, I can't wait to attend again next year!

To my surprise, my Evo came away with a 1st place trophy in the 700 class (Evo VIII/IX). I couldn't believe the car took top prize! It was the PERFECT ending to an AMAZING weekend for my Evo!!

A HUGE thanks to everyone who voted for the car! And, a HUGE thanks to all who contributed to this remarkably and memorable weekend; RS Motors, Jeff the Alignment guy, Bill, Josh, Rick, and Chris for letting me stay at his place all weekend! Thanks for reading!

Thanks Derek... Pictures just don't do cars justice, that's for sure! I actually cleaned the interior again, and I plan to polish it a bit more tomorrow (labor day) and throw another layer of wax on it...
Good luck in your hunt. Good things come to those who wait!!!
