2003 OZ - Whats the stock tint % ??

I've been loooking and looking and haven't found an answer. I turn to my fellow Mitsu peeps.

The Lancer OZ (mine is 2003) has factory tinting. What percentage %%% is it, on each window?

Thanks for answering my dumbass question!

dude window tint is usually a dealer added option not factory. the best way to find out is to go to a tint shop and have them check

thank you for the words guys. I am told that the tinting that is on the stock OZ is not an aftermarket tint persay, but rather the glass has a tinted shade in it. I'm trying to locate exactly what percentage that may be.

I will be going to a shop to check it out, just thought maybe some of the peeps on here would know exactly what it is.

If I recall, the ES and LS are not tinted at all whereas the OZ is "kinda" tinted.

nope, the only thing you see is the glass. it may have a greenish hue but it is not tinted from the factory.

I have a 2003 OZ and it was clear except the 3% glare reduction in the glass.

I just got back from dropping my car at the tint shop, and the max they can do - legally - for the driver/passenger windows is 35%.

...of course, for a cash deal, they'll do 15% all the way around...

...and I speak from experience!

...by the way - EcrsEvo - I've got a similar quote, but I checked and it was by "Abraham Lincoln"

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" - Abraham Lincoln

...but now, I'm not so sure!

as for legal tint, that varies by state. In Ca. I know that tinting is not legal in ANY amount on the windshield (except for the 6" strip at the top) and the front side windows. Now, most cops won't notice up to about 50%, and that's why you usually get away with that.

's website has listings for specs for the cars.

Under Lancer, "tinted glass" is checked for every version. I'm guessing it's hardly noticable or just the glare reduction, but it IS called tint by .

On my Mustang there was a slight greenish tint, blocked about 5% of the incoming light, so essentially a 95%.
