New 2008 Evo X GSR Owner

Hey everyone, new 2008 Evo X GSR SSS owner here. Bought the car 3 weeks ago with 40K on it. Car came 100% stock although Carfax shows 6 previous owners so who knows what could have been done to it in the past...most things seem to run fairly smoothly although there are a few small problems here and there. Been wanting this car for a very long time but finally saved up the money for one.

I told myself before I bought the car that I'd keep it 100% stock but I'm faltering very quickly...just ordered a Cobb AP and may add more bolt-ons as I save up cash.

Here are a few pics:

I'm located in New Haven, CT and if any of you are nearby I'd be down to meet up!

From most to least noticeable/annoying:

1. Drove through a puddle which took out my plastic undertray. Ziptied it up as a temp fix

2. Turbo makes pronounced noise when car is cold. When warmed up everything's okay. Video here:

3. Rear diff (?) makes a brief "groaning" noise (lasts a fraction of a second and sounds like someone opening a heavy, rusted metal door) under moderate-to-heavy acceleration at ~3k RPM.

4. Car is fast, but not as fast as I expected. Pulls strong from 3.5-5k RPM but from 5k-7k it's faltering. Nothing Cobb AP won't fix!

5. Rear right rotor seem to be scored at one point (haven't had a chance to take a pic because I just discovered) from the brake pad? Makes a millimeter-wide, maybe half-millimeter deep groove in the rotor. Brakes feel okay though, pads look fine.

6. Cabin/trunk smell have a coolant smell. Haven't investigated much.

Great choice! Feel free to come by we can take a look at the problems and let you know if is something that should be fixed now. The rear diff is something to check right away, its very expensive to replace.

We are about 10 minutes eat of Providence RI
