Evo X in my future, checking in with the community!
So after being out of the tuner scene for a little while now I just can't take it anymore and will be getting back into a car spring of 2013. I traded in my 2009 Cobalt SS (i know not the car for everyone, but I enjoyed it) last year on a 2006 Trailblazer SS. Don't get me wrong I enjoy it as my DD, however I highly miss a manual, and the ability to have fun driving somewhere. The TBSS is fun in a straight line and that is about it.
Coming here to get in tune with the community, research the car, and get myself prepared for the Evo X ownership. I'm definitely looking forward to it!
Here are my current vehicle/toys:

I have a few questions about the Evo X if you guys don't mind me asking, I searched for about an hour and couldn't find the answers I was looking for.
Is the Evo X transmission really that bad? I've been told it is, but hell I drove on a Chevy F35 transmission it can't be that bad LOL
How well is the X in the snow? I live in WV, so it usually snows a good bit here (Have a 12' Jeep Wrangler for when it snows to much), but just wanted to make sure it would go in small amounts if needed, the weather man isn't always right, and sometimes it starts while i'm at work.
Pretty much all I can think of right now, but i'm sure i'll think of more during my time before the purchase!

depends on your definition of that bad? I mean everyone *****es about stuff being that bad after they've had tons of power. How much are you modding it? GSR true 5 speed is the stronger of the transmissions.
^That
and yea The X is amazing in the snow especially with the right tires. The thing will kill it self before it lets you spin out of control.
As far as the trasmission goes its not as bad as it seems. I mean if you trying to push MAJOR HP then be careful but if you're just tinkering with it a bit and you take care of it you should be fine.
Im surprised you didn't ask abou the MPGs which is what people USUALY ask about lol but as far as that goes a good tune will get you some decent numbers.
PS if you decide on an Evo Factory tune = sh*t just sayin

So i'm sure that's what will be on the Evo's winter shoes. Good to hear, I basically want 350 WHP, plenty for a DD and still a ton of fun. I'm not going for some 500 WHP monster haha From what i've read so far, a Downpipe, testpipe, catback, intake, UICP, 3-port, EBC, and a tune should easily get me to that mark.
As far as MPG go I could care less
I have a 1.6 mile commute to work so it doesn't really matter lol but I only get 11.4 MPG in the TBSS so the Evo has to be better then that LOLThanks for the responses guys!
