Potential problems when buying a 03 with only 10k miles.

Reacentlly spotted a 03 GSR with only 10k miles. The car seems to be in great condition and the owner is just located a couple miles from me.
Searched the forum but can't find any details about what to pay attention to when buying an "old but low miles" kinda evo.
Any suggestion on buying? What else do I need to look at when buying this kind of evo except for the regular checks? What price should be fair?
Thanks for helping!

My very best!

p.s. Here is the description offered by the owner "You read the mileage correct, this car has under 11k miles. Up for sale is my museum piece. I purchased this clean title car from the original owner and it has been spending most of its life in a garage for the last almost 10 years. It is 100% bone stock, never modified and ready to go. The a/c works great and the overall condition of the car is pretty much a 10 out of 10. The paint is shiny, the wheels look great and the Brembos brakes are still glossy red. I purchased a transferable drive-train warranty with this car and there is still 6-months left. So, there is no fear of anything major breaking down for the new owner. I would love to keep it, but with the recent birth of my son it turns out that we are going to need something a little bigger. More pictures upon request and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Pictures really don't show how clean this car is."

Thanks again for your help!

Sound like you found a diamond in the rough...depending on price. The only probs I had with my 03 VIII GSR was the transfer case going out...then again I had that prob when I got my X...go figure. Other than that I had no complaints and she stayed together like a champ.

Looks like a great car, but the only thing that seems odd to me is that he is selling it because it is too small for his baby, but yet he says it has spent the last 10 years in a garage.

10k miles on a 10 year old car would seem like he has a DD already.

Have you done a carfax? I get one every time I buy a car. Makes selling them a little easier as well.

No sir! You lack reading comprehension!... It clearly states the car has under 11,000(eleven) thousand miles!....

Just buy it, I just bought an 03 evo with well over 100k miles. No regrets and running strong.

why would you hesitate? buy it change the fluids just because and drive it. i bought my 03 with 96k on it and drive it hard and no real issues at all. i mean it has to little miles on it to worry about it. if so you can still buy an extended warranty through companies for cars under 10 years old and 100k so you will be fine.

It all depends on where it was sitting and how it was stored really. I would look for rubber dry rot, obviously brake condition and tires, fluids, find out if they had stabil in the tank if not I'd want to change that also, check the filter box and wire harnesses for signs of animals nesting/chewing them up. That besides the "common Evo issues".

2 years ago I bought a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with only 13,000 miles. Garage kept, showroom floor quality. My wife has been DDing it for the past two year and they only things we have had to do are change the water pump because the seal went out and buy new tires because the they were dry rotting from being 12 years old. My point is an extremely low mil car can be a heck of a bargain, despite the age. It's like going back in time to buy an '03 from off the showroom floor.

I agree and wasnt trying to discourage! It all depends on how it was kept. Being as old as the car is it could be just as your wife's or a train wreck in the making dependent on care/storage. Very nice pick up on the wrangler btw sounds like it was a good deal.
