EGR Question

Ok so my CEL is on for my EGR valve and i heard lots of people delete theirs and in some cases ive heard of better gas mileage or improved horsepower is any of that true?

No. Deleting the EGR system will not gain you more power/gas milage.

Before you change the EGR look into the two vacuum hoses that connect to it. It is very rare for a mechanical egr to go bad. Most time its vacuum hoses or vacuum solenoids.

If anything, deleting the EGR may actually reduce your fuel mileage. That said, I still deleted mine on my IX to keep the intake manifold cooler and cleaner.
