Buying a car
So I'm looking into buying a car and the RalliArt and the evo x came to mind. I was wondering what would you guys buy between a new RalliArt or a use 2010 EVO X MR. The car will be a daily driver. I'm not planning to mod the car, just want a reliable car/fun to drive.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah, there are +'s you get with the Evo you can't get with the Ralliart without spending a bucket-load of cash.
Flared fenders for better stance, front aero, rear aero, the TD05 turbo, bigger FMIC, more power, etc. Aftermarket support will cover the Evo more than the RA too.
Benefits of the RA are simply the SST without having an Evo, and maybe lower insurance (maybe not, just check into it anyway)

RA will be cheaper to buy, insurance was quoted exactly the same for me as an evo. RA has folding rear seats, evo does not. RA has a better turning radius. For a dedicated stock puddle jumper its perfect if you find one fully loaded for a good price. Look around.
meh everyone complains about the turning radius on the Evo...I think my 05 STi was worse. I can actually make U-turns in the Evo.
The rear folding seat thing, yeah the Evo sucks for cargo, but the reason the seat doesnt fold is because battery and washerfluid are back there. Plus the Evo has S-AWC, the rear Yaw Control pump is behind the trunk liner.
So, the things that make is worse for cargo are what makes it handle better. All trade offs.
But if you really *need* cargo space, the RA and Evo are bad choices.
If I had a kid and needed to carry around a stroller, honestly I would look into the STi sedan or, like I'm planning on getting, an Escape, CRV or some other small SUV as a daily.

Looks like you really enjoy the fun from a Lancer.
The only regrets for buying an EVO are the insurance and gas.
You will have more regrets on a RA if you compare it with EVO at a later time, but that doesn't mean RA is a bad car.
Speaking of fun,
1. Basic Lancer is not enough.
2. RA is enough (sometimes more than enough, it kills a lot of cars on street already especially on snow)
3. EVO is always more than enough for daily driving.
