Hoping to get an Evo VIII in a month or two, what should I know?
I'm graduating from Wyotech in a couple of weeks, and I'm looking to put myself into a stock/mildly modded VIII. Anything I should know?
buying a used evo is hard. look for one thats stock and had one owner. mostly all the evo for sale that are cheap been modded and race on. If you could get a compression test before buying one. would save you headaches.
Congrats on making it to the finish line of school! One owner! FTW. finding a stock 1 owner evo 8 is is new impossible! considering that they are becoming 7,8,9 year old cars! You just have too be sure of what you buy. Mods on VIII's arent bad as long as the mods are well done! Not parts that are fabricated by someones friend while smoking a blunt! AMS, ETS and other name brand parts are good to have on a car!
Also dont impulse on a car casue you want an evo! Find the car that you want! I searched for 4 months before mine came up! Ive heard of people waiting for 6+ months for the car they want to pop up! GL

yea waiting is the most important part it took almost one year before i found my rs for sale and have to drive 7hrs to pick it up. mods can be dangerous because most of the evo owners don't get a tune.
Just check everything you can think of. If a few things seem half done or thrown together just walk away.
Chances are the owner really cared about the car and treated it right or just wanted a fast toy and didn't care about maintaining it.
You want someone's baby, not their problem

Well if u went to school, you should already kinda know what to look for. Personally when searching for your car, of all previous owners try to get one off an older person, they usually maintain and keep theres stock. Buy from a young kid n u know that cars been beatin on. Id change all fluids maybe a tíming belt depending on miles. Find one you like if it suits you beat on it on the road test. In stockish hp these things are very reliable.
