Evo X MR or Evo X SE

Hi guys,

New to the forum but love what I've seen so far. I currently have an 05 EVO VIII which i will be selling soon. I want to replace it with an EVO X but can't decide between the MR or SE. I want the auto cause the majority of my driving is in the city and changing gears every 30 seconds gets annoying. So i'm asking for your thoughts on the MR vs SE?

Thanks for your help and thoughts,

First, be careful about calling the SST-equipped cars "automatics"; some of the MR folks in particular get a little testy when you do that.

As to MR vs SE, my suggestion is that you do what you're always supposed to do in these situations: write a list of what options you want and how important each is to you, and then compare your list with the two cars. In general - and this is probably way too general to be worth writing down - people who plan to leave the car alone and daily drive it get the MR, while people who plan to set the car up for racing on tarmac get the SE.

Go with an MR. They dont make the SE anymore. MR has more standard options like xenon headlights, eibach kyb suspension, BBS wheels, Rockford Fosgate sound system etc.

Thanks for the input. I'll try to call it a SST instead of auto lol. Curous though, why is the se better for modding?

Because you didn't pay extra for stuff that you'll probably remove or replace.

Who said this?

Both cars have the same engine, drivetrain and curb weight essentially. Either car is good for modding. Is the MR overpriced? Hell yeah! But hey waddayagunado?

IMHO the bbs wheels aren't anything special, the Rockford system is decent at best, and my SE had HIDs. If they still made them I would get an SE

I'd pick an SE over an MR, all factors equal.

MR all day.

The interior, especially with the full leather is pretty nice for a Mitsu. Its a solid daily driver for sure.

The SE is basically a GSR with TC-SST.

MR, all day. It feels so different than the gsr.
MR has it all, including the most amazing trans short of a Ferrari,

You are aware that the MR and SE have the same transmission and the question is whether to get an MR or SE, yes?
