Picked up my first evo today, an 05 black ssl. I love it. Although its running rich and needs tune. Am I doing damage by driving it like this?

 

Do you have a wideband hooked up to it and how does it run? Does it run sluggish or do u just see black smoke at WOT?

 

Im a total noob when it comes to these cars. Its my first and ive been dying to get one for a long time, just trying to learn as much as possible. Apart from other mods it had the AEM gauges. Cad runs really well, pulls very hard, a little bit of smoke. Has service engine light because its running rich.

 

Well they come from the factory pretty rich. What mods are on it. If there's alot of mods and no tune then there's your problem.

 

It's lightly modded. I know it needs a tune, I'm just wondering if its harming it to drive like this In the meantime.

 

Yeah, probably get it checked by a place that knows Evo's first, just incase you are doing damage with your"hard pulls"
