At lunch i sit with a group of kids who think they know alot about cars, but the true story is they do not. However today one of the kids mentioned to anouther how an evo should be considered a race only car since it has no stereo, air conditioning, heat, or stereo. I quickly jumped to this and said wtf u talking about? They all backed this up saying that the evo is the racing model of the evolution . I have never heard of this before (In fact i called them retarded to myself knowing evo is short for evolution), and was wondering if it was true. If not id love to use this thread to prove them wrong. Thanks for your reply.

Evo is short for Evolution... same thing. The Evo RS (Evolution RS) comes with no AC, no stereo, no power anything, no wing, black door handles and mirrors, only white or red, and a loss of some of the sound deadening materials. Along with the addition of a front helical LSD. The standard Evo has all those things, minus the front LSD.

Oh, by the way, I really wouldn't consider the RS as a racing model, as it is street legal and boasts the same power, chassis stiffness, and suspension (well maybe they changed the spring rates) as the standard Evo. The RS is more of an enthusiast model.

 

In other words...yes you are right, they are wrong.

 

he's getting mixed up with the evo RS... which has no stereo, AC, moonroof and automatica windows.... the rest of us got the evo8... which is more 'comfortable' version

The Evolution RS doesn't have the creature comforts that the standard USDM evolution has.. But there's no model specifically called EVO.. Its just Slang..

The evolution RS is a bit lighter than the other car.. But their both street legal..

If not having a stereo, A/C and power windows is what makes a car a "race only" car.. I've got a few base Honda Civic and 4 cyl Chevy S10 pickups to sell them..

I think they've been sucking too much NAWS.. Ugh..

 

the new evo coming out the rs has no ac stereo spoiler or sunroof and could be considered the racing version of the regular evo.
