Bought 2006 Evolution, black MR, want to know previous owner tuned the car

Hello, everyone. I just purchased a 2006 evolution mr. Want to know if the previous owner tuned the car since it is running over 30 psi (i know, a lot). Bought it from a dealer in Tucson Arizona, Thoroughbred Nissan. Car is black, spent most of its time in California. Says Booyah! on the inter-cooler. Many modifications. If anyone has any info let me know! Thanks!

I would say probably. 30psi really isn't that much....
Oh,sorry didn't see it was over 30 psi.... Lol

Anyway, I would try and get in touch with someone with a tactrix cable and read the ROM so you could see the Tune for yourself.

Post a pic in the local forums nd someone may notice it..

What supporting mods do you have to run 30 psi? I'm curious, sounds fast.

this. I would also get them to log the car and see if there is any knock. A lot of these cars get parts sold off of them when going into the dealer but the tune isn't updated so you want to ensure first of all that the tune is safe.

I'd post in the local forums. In the cali and AZ forums. Maybe someone has seen it around or knows the PO

I hope the car had proper fuel and at least head studs.

Thanks for the reply guys. It has full exhaust hard piping larger intercooler some really nice coilovers cams garrett turbo (no shaft play) its like a garrett .50 defi boost gauges stiff clutch. The only iffy thing was...it has a ghetto rigged 2.5 intake pipe so I just put a clean 3 inlet. Car idles great etc. I am taking it to my mechanic that boosts evos for a living. To see what's up with it. The warning on the electronic boost controller is set to 32 psi. Peak is set at like 31.4. That's about all I can gather...car had 91 from a good gas station...I've learned to stay away from cheap brands. That went through my mind but its a Cali car, so they have 91 too. Amazing thing is dealer gave me a 15 day 500 mile warranty on this car which ends today.

if it's running 30 psi it's tuned. if it has cams, it's tuned. if it has a non-stock turbo, it's tuned

your car 99% does not have the stock map on it, and if the 1% chance that it does, i'd sell it or prepare to sink money into it

sounds like you driving a grenade... 91 oct on 30psi is no good! does it have a wideband?

i would say baby it until you find some stuff out, do not go boosting around if your not sure. i would hate to see your investment just detonate!!!

Man there are way to many variables here. I strongly suggest you have the car logged and have mapping looked over by a tuner ASAP.

As well as have someone who knows these cars give it an inspection.

I'd def agree that the car would have to be tuned however what may have changed since then? You don't know so get it checked out before pushing
