Looks decent. Weird why he would disconnect the boost gauge. New paint is always nice because the factory paint doesn't hold up well anyway. I wonder how much hardware had to be removed to paint the doors...? Good transmission, but the fact that he needed a shep means he could've really wrung it out. Headlights look like they need some repair or replacement. That could be a few hundred dollars unless you do it yourself. I'd say it's worth checking out in person.

You also have to consider that this is not like buying a new $10k car and that repair and maintenance on these is steep, which you'll most likely be facing more often. If $10k is your budget than you probably want to stay away from that car.

He's about 2k off what I'd consider paying for that car.

Keep looking

Looks haggard in my opinion. I'd keep looking. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the headache.

I can see why he's selling it. He needs a new keyboard, his CAPS lock is stuck on.

Getting that car back to where it should be is going to be expensive.

Can you perform an adequate amount of repairs yourself? If no, are you financially able to pay a reputable shop to perform necessary repairs? Are you ready to find other issues down the road, that you may not notice on the test drive?

Really your call. You get what you pay for especially with these cars. I'd pass, unless I had suddenly developed an ability to paint/perform body work.

AC panels switch broken. and the thing is a mess. If you can put it together yourself maybe for $8K( I would) but after a leakdown and compression.

Your buying someone elses problem. I did the exact same thing. Found a cheap viii and have spent half of what I paid for it in just repairs. Whats your budget like?? You also dont what what else is wrong with the car that can hidden. New paint is great but not if it has alot of bondo underneath. GL
