Evo Lurker..

Been lurking on some Evos for awhile in comparison to the STI..STI forums scream get one but I assume it will be the same here.

Really have a sweet spot when it comes to the EVO. Hope I can find something soon and get this started!!

Brand new? I would honestly go STI now, the motor can still pop but they look better IMHO then the X, have a proper 6 speed, and just a better car. AS far as tuning is concerned the X still has the edge but slightly. The X has superior turn in and can hold a corner way better. The STI will understeer all over the place but I already have an IX and can't stand the X's.

Get the brandy new STI and simple bolt ons, you will love it.

We can't really help you if we don't know exactly what you're looking for. What do you plan on doing with the car? DD? Track? Auto X? - have you figured out which styles you like? What's your price range? There are SO many things you need to consider when buying a car like the Evo or STi. Give us a little bit more information and we can help you out.

The RX-8 handles way better then the STI, not as good as the Evo, that's all you need to know. The RX-8 obviously tail happier in a good way.

Sorry guys..I'm looking to end up with either and VIII or a IX. Needs to either be black or white..I will settle on that. Mileage is a whatever but I will be using the car for some daily and track. Suggestions as far as mods or anything?

As someone who switched from WRX/Sti directly to Evo I can honestly say that the Evo is better, at least in my opinion. For a Daily Driver, I'd take a Subaru, creature comforts are better. Evo is so much better though. I love mine and will never go back. Ever. I have an VIII btw

I would just start with basic mods. Maybe an exhaust, drop it, tint windows (I don't consider that a "mod", I'm just throwing it out there). I have had the ability to drive both an STi (boyfriend had one) and the Evo and I will say the Evo is soooo much better. Have you thought about maybe test driving both to see which one you enjoy better?

I have driven the newer sti and I wasn't truly impressed. I do have a friend coming in to town shortly with an EVO that I would like to drive. Definitely hoping that drives better. Just going to use it for daily really but obviously wanna make it pull. Is looking for a decent Evo for around $15k to low of a standard?

Ummm it all depends. When I was looking, anything that was within the price range you are looking at was haggard or beat to hell and had parts missing like bumpers, interior pieces, etc. No joke. They also had higher miles but I wasn't in the market for one with anything more than 40K miles which everybody said would be impossible to find. You're not to far from where I am, and I found a lot in NY, NJ, and OH honestly. You just have to know where to look. You can find them if you look hard enough.
