I'm growing a little impatient, (I don't really need a car though..)

I'm set on an Evo IX, but all the IX's around me want 20k plus or all the ones that are in my price range are salvage title..

I can't seem to figure out if its worth an extra ~10k for a IX. Anyone have experience can chime in? I've ran across some crazy deals on some 03 Evo's, and even some 03 Evo's want IX prices. I understand its to weed out lowballers, and flakes, but come on! lol.

I remember back in 08 when IX's were going for 17-18k with relatively low miles. Now there up around 20-25k

Anyways my plans for the car is to just daily drive it, and eventually shoot for a reliable 400-450whp on pump. Should I continue to save for a IX or will I be happy with an 03?

Keep in mind, I've never driven an Evo before. I've been in alot of DSM's, owning a 99 GSX, and driving a buddys GST w/16g- race tranny.

I just want something AWD since I'm in the Northwest.

Any info help would be appreciated. If you can find search links, can you link them also? I tried searching, but didn't really find what I was searching for..

They range from stock to 600hp+.

I still like my car, bare bones 2003 GSR. I don't have to worry about any ACD failure,LOL

All depends on what you want. Yeah 9's are going for $20+...

But are you needing ACD,LSD,etc..

It is entirely up to you.

 

Any 04-05 options? If you happen to mod it (esp upgrade the 8 turbo) you'll quickly find out that there is not a drastic difference between the VIII and IX except some slight aesthetics.
