Yeah, I was on this forum for about a month just reading before I bought it. It's going to be fun. A lot less work than the STi (hopefully). The 4G63 is a better starting platform than the EJ25. But, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Well what's your goal? DD, WW, or drag? What kind of budget you working with? You looking for quick gains from the start or something to "build up too" as a progression?

My budget is pretty high, like in the five digit range. I'd like to make it a 450whp DD. I'd like to build slowly (slowly is relative), so that I can learn the motor/drive train etc.
I have a Cosworth built STi which is nowhere near DD-able. And that's what my end goal is for the Evo. Cheers

Cool. So what did you end up with after the tune?

Well 450awhp is definitely achievable, my buddy is putting those numbers down on 93. Definitely study up on the Kelford 272s which I have, and the GSC S2's. Kelford's make more power compared to the S2's so I've seen people use the S3's.

Turbo wise check out the FP red/black or even a BBK or GT35r/37r because that'll help get that goal EASILY. lol You trying to make this goal on pump or meth?
