Is it worth it if I get him to drop the price to 14K?

Salvage title because it was side swiped passengers side. No frame damage just doors and quarter panel.

14k yea... 16k no. There are a few things that seem out of place under the hood at a glance in the pic. Which would lead me to believe more is out of place after a close inspection. 14k for a very limited production car is damn good. Clean title or not

 

get a VIN and google the VIN and run a carfax/autocheck

yeah- I'd Look hard at the frame- If you cant find any distortion in the frame that lines the door and the B-pillar I bet It's got a good frame. I don't think that's and OEM SE; I think it's kist a 9? (built in lip). And why's he got ballasts if the SE comes with HID? fogs? That's all Im thinking... good price.

Where's the SE lip? And as mentioned, what's with the funky location of the (should be) OEM HID ballasts?

 

The guy has been trying to sell the car for awhile,He had a black ix mr se for sale at the sametime.I think the guy owns or runs a shop.He buys salvage cars and rebuilds them.

 

To answer the questions about the ballast and why they are out of place the guy says in the Craigslist ad that they headlights and tails are now JDM, he more than likely opted for the non HID and then added them in with an aftermarket kit so there is the answer to that.

Here are some of the things I noticed:

The link to the video he posted shows that the seats are SE because they have red stitching, but there is no front SE lip which isnt right but the wheels are diamond black which coincides with the SE model but then there is no SE Badge on the rear unless it was removed.

Way to many mods for it to be mildly driven in my opinion... He even says "Really fast" twice in the listing... Buyer beware. If he maintained it properly as he says he did I would ask for the proof.

The Evolution badge on the rear has a backwards E and its for an VIII not IX... I dont know why anyone would bother doing this if its a IX....

The Rear wing is from a IX but the badge says its an VIII and the front is from a IX

Exhaust stick out a lot, probably not the right one for the JDM rear that is on the car

Car is lowered for sure, stock Evos have god awful gaps in the suspension

$16k isnt horrible but not the best... $14k is good but before anything get that thing on a frame machine and have it checked out

it has no SE lip because that's not an OE front bumper. it's aftermarket

so he not only has a salvage title car, he cheaped out on repairs

 

My SE doesn't have a rear badge either
