No worries. I've been on other car forums for many years and know how it goes.

Thanks! I've always been a fan of this car. I really wanted an Evo ever since they started selling them in the US (VIII), but were out of my budget at the time.

1st off, I'd like to say that I want your job. lol

Your M3 looks aggressive, yet smart. That's a really good combo.

I own an ix, so i don't know how the X drives but from what I've heard and seen, they fit your criteria perfectly. Are you going to get a White X to match your M3?

Oh another thing, if you're ever down in SoCal with the M3, take me for a spin, yea?
Thanks! I'll be lurking for awhile as I know any questions I might have has probably answered a billion times.

White is my first choice, but I've never been too picky about car colors. I'll be happy with white, black, or gray. What I care more about is the options. Looking at a manual GSR with no moonroof. I want the Sight & Sounds and Park Assist packages. Still not quite sure what the Exterior package is so I'll have to look into that. The rest I don't really care about.

I actually lived in Socal for about 11 years before moving back up to the Bay Area. Lived in Long Beach for 2, and Irvine for 9 years.

You work for Apple in Cupertino? I'm a structural engineer in Cupertino and I swear I've seen your m3 on the streets before...then again they are all over the place. Heck, I regularly see 2-3 different Bugatti's lol. Beautiful and clean M3 tho.

I daily drive my Evo 9 ~450whp and all I have to say is I look forward to driving to work in the morning as well as getting groceries. The 9's don't have as comparable of an interior to an X but I got the SSL (Sun, Sound, Leather) and I'm young so I don't care, haha. I guarantee that you will love an evo as a DD. After a few mods and a Tune (Go to Full Function Technology, FFTEC in Hayward, CA) you can probably walk your M3. I love seeing all these hot shot tech guys in m3's fade away in my mirrors.

M3 looks good man!! I think if you get an evo with Leather and stuff you will enjoy it a lot....but I agree with some of the guys...I can see the evo becoming your track car...stock for stock an X is faster around most tracks than an E92

The M3 looks sick man! I miss my old E46 M3 at times. I sold it to get an EVO. I really like the E92 M3's. When I get done racing my car, Im looking into the M3 when the time comes. You will like the EVO X. My buddy bought one brand new and they are fun

I don't work for Apple, but they pay our company. If you've seen a white M3 with this wing and splitter, it probably was me. As far as I know I'm the only one in the area with these parts.

Yea I wouldn't be surprised I can make the Evo faster with a few mods. I've never really been about straight line speed, but we'll see. Power is addicting with boost. I actually had a supercharger on my M3, but got rid of it because it felt like too much power for this chassis. Not to mention heat soak at the track and it ruined the throttle response of the car. Having ITB's stock, the M3's throttle is lightning quick. The M3 is respectably fast in a straight line, but it's definitely not made for it. It handles like a dream at the track.

Is this based on real data from professional drivers or just what you've seen and heard? I think with AWD and the electronics, the Evo is a lot easier to drive fast than the M3 (sort of like the GTR is as well). So in most track days I wouldn't be surprised if guys are passing M3's in their Evo's. I'm currently running a 1:42 at Laguna Seca, but I know my car is capable of sub 1:40's. I wonder what it takes for the Evo X to get down there? Either way, what I love about the track is it's all about the driver and not the car. I'm passing faster cars all day long because the driver's aren't capable of driving their GT3RS and 911 Turbos through corners quickly.

Personally I love the challenge of needing a lot of car control to be fast in a RWD car. The M3 is really balanced though and pretty easy to keep in check. One of these days I hope to graduate to a mid engine or even rear engine car.

Yea my only fear is that I'll like it too much, start modding, and then worry about it too much as a daily.

I completely agree with you on the driver aspect of it...to answer your question...I've never researched it but just seeing publications and random track data from time to time...not just guys on forums...I think at laguna seca specifically the X runs high 1:40's so you got that easily beat obviously....and as long as you do the mods right it will be bulletproof for many years...are you looking for a brand new one or a used one?

I like the white with gold/yellow Brembo calipers. Been thinking about doing a similar color scheme with my WW X MR.

Now I'm interested to see which car will be your track car

Suppose we'll see by the end of the year.
