Hello!
Hello!
Hey everyone,
Suppose when it comes down to basics, the most I know about the Lan-Evo is the 276bhp, the 4wd, the recaro seats, brembo brakes, the model names and all that stuff, and a few other basics (like what you see in general) and that Tommi Makinen WAS it's star driver.
Anyway, I heard a few months ago after being hooked to the Lan-Evo by the anime series, Initial D that the car was coming with the US. I'm pro Evo, and highly consider the Evolution to be THE GOD OF THE ROAD. Ended up on the top of my dream cars, higher than an over priced (but still so very cool) Diablo VT. As of now, I'm in no financial position to even try. I'm planning on saving up $10k for a down and getting one sometime between September and December of 2003, or roughly a little over a year from now.
From what it seems, people are posting the car will be $35-37k tops. Kind of stiffly priced considering that you can import one for Japan for... I don't know... Maybe $10k (or 15) more than that, STILL have a right-hand car. I base that on costs to import a new Skyline GT-R. Now, for that kind of price, I would want to see the full car, untouched and some extras that Subie has added in. The 6-disc indash CD player for one! I've read something about these cars not having power windows, power locks or air conditioning?!? I don't know about that, but Americans demand those things! The recaro seats, momo wheel, and brembo brakes I read are to be standard. I hope that is true!
Then there's the rumor of the 6-speed?!? WHAT IS THAT ABOUT? Is this for real? I'd like a 5-speed thank you! Hopefully like it's topic though, it's just a rumor!
I guess what my real question is (and I haven't seen any posts since like, March on this) does anyone know what options it will have? Are things like the Brembo brakes really going to be standard? How about the juicy big spoiler? Please don't tell me it's going to be like the current Lancer spoiler.
Like the Subaru WRX (which I just convinced my father to get one!) I know it will have PLENTY of aftermarket goodies, and will be overflowing with things to choose from. That makes me happy to know. At least then I have some chance to customize in the end. Especially body kits. If the body is heavily changed and I see a chance to mod it to a VII or even better, a IV or V, then you can believe I'd be totally pro on that! Being the IVs and Vs are my favorite in design. I love those big fog lights and somewhat boxier design.
Any information on that would be appreciated!
Also, since this won't be until late 2003, should I wait for the 2004s or get one as soon as I can? I guess most of that will matter on what the 2004s will be packing!
Thanks!

PS: for all you people talking about the color you want... WHITE! I want it in WHITE!
