New to the Evo World

Hello guys,

I'm Mike and I'm new to the Evo world. But I'm a old timer to the DSM world. I recently bought a 05 Evo8 MR. I got a great deal on it. All stock except a few little things such as the Injen hard intercooler pipe kit, a GReddy BOV , exhaust system from the turbo back and a HKS turbo timer. The body is in perfect condition and the interior is perfect as well. It had 72k on the clock and snagged it up for 18k. I feel like I got a good deal. My plans are to see if I can get it faster than my GSX.

Here are some pics.

Mike, it's a gun-metal 8MR, it is already is faster than your DSX mate :P
Nice purchase and what a price. With those mods it may already have a tune. Doesn't take much to make these things faster than what they are. Good start is handling. No point having power if you can't use it.

You'll have a ball either way

That's a good deal, nicely done. And, welcome to Evo M. If you want to make it fast, there are tons of threads in the Evo VIII/IX sections that will help. Tons of how-tos, dynos threads, build threads, etc, etc, to help give you ideas and inspiration. Take a look.

I feel bad saying this but the Evo is slow compared to my GSX. But my GSX is a beast . I already have plans for the Evo. You guys might like whats in the future for the MR8; FP Black, JM Fab twin scroll manifold, JM Fab o2 housing with open dump, 1450cc FIC injectors, Wally 400, BC 272 cams, wbo2 and tune with Evoscan

Feel free to give your inputs if I should add/minus the list because I'm planning on getting this stuff in 2 months because we are in the middle of moving. They boss aka wife put a hold on my toys until then, haha women!

Ohh...ahhh...Sexy manifold and Brand new turbo on that DSM too! Where will you feed the turbo oil from?
Funny I have been playing with my DSM more and the Evo is somewhat neglected in the garage. :} Mine's heavy though, since it's a convertible and all the accessories.

I'm feeding it from the OFH. Got a few things finished on it the other night. What turbo you running on your DSM?

It has a FP 16G kit. I am re-thinking my oil feed because I have the banjo fitting leaking and had to replace it twice.
Man that DSM is so clean! Now go put more hoses and wires on it!

Welcome dude. I just picked up a Evo IX my self. Bought it off a older gentleman who was the only owner and it only has 40,000 miles on it. Check her out.

That's a clean Evo man. I really like the black leather Recaro seats. You got very lucky and with 40k miles.....
