As the title says I'm interested in possibly going wingless on the Evo, yes I know the spoiler was there for a reason. Yet am I really going to reach what the design of the spoiler was intended for? Not really but what's everyone's thought on a wingless Evo? They seem to be very clean looking and I know since I just debadged my trunk I need to repaint it so just curious on everyone's thoughts/ideas..

 

took my wing off a while a go and fell in love with it all over again. plus, its nice to have a full rear view through the mirror. haha.

 

If you plan on getting a JDM rear bumper i would say go wingless....the car looks like *** without a wing and just a stock bumper on it...but its your car. You should look thru some pics of how Evos look without a wing and a stock rear bumper to help with your decision. i can tell you from experience taking it off will help with police harassment (NYC) but I recently debadged my rear and kept the wing on & havent had any issues with the fuzz lol

My personal opinion is that cars without spoilers only look good when they have a nice drop and something else to offset the fact that the wing is gone. Like nice wheels, with an awesome drop and say a JDM rear. If you don't have something off setting it, it just looks funny to me.

 

I took mine off a week ago and cant wait to get it back on. Just looks off to me.

 

mines off, holes filled and trunk re sprayed went from showroom to body shop. In the test drive I hated having to move up or dowm in the seat to get a good look behind the car All badging removed except for the one in the steering wheel. Lowered on spec-r springs and X rims. I love it wingless. It is a matter of taste some people love the wing some don't

 

Awesome appreciate the suggestions everyone, I have a c-west full body kit so the rear somewhat reminds me of the Evo 7. I would like to change it to the JDM rear to give it that nice affect. Right now the car is lowered on GTWorX springs, 5mm spacers in the rear with a flat roll. Since I'm getting the trunk re-painted due to the hot *** weather here in florida, I thought about taking the wing off since I'm not doing turns at 100+ mph

 

Good thread and nice pictures I appreciate giving me a good idea on everything with the rear bumpers.. definitely helped indeed to give me somethign to think about more so. As you said it is "MY" vehicle and yada yada yada lol

 

In my opinion, EVO's look better wingless. I had the wing on my EVO's for a very short time. I just like the look of it better without the wing. There are some EVO's on here, that look amazing with the wing though. I've always liked the wingless look. Best bet is to take off the wing, and see how you like it without it

 

I think the wingless look is more stealth.
Although I'm partial, have a x mr.

I've seen my buddies 8 without the wing and evo 8 stock rear bumper yet he's got a nice drop on the car and proper stance. Looks sick, maybe I should have posted up a rear shot of the vehicle for a more visual aid support. The c-west rear has some design yet not an aggressive extension as the JDM rear does. But I have the JDM black tails, side markers and JDM fronts
