One less part to manufacture if they use existing (read: Mirage) parts. The more you make, the cheaper they are per part. I think it's as simple as that.

 

I think my emphasis was on the second part.. the first part is probably just an added bonus.

 

why is the LS worse than an ES?

 

I know this is an old thread but hopefully someone can help. I have an 03 lancer ES and I'm looking for some oem wheels that I can throw on it. I haven't had much luck with aftermarket so if rather get something OEM.
My first impulse was the OZ wheels which I learned wouldn't work so I tried Mirage wheels but problem is there like 150-200 a piece. I came up with the Mini Cooper base has 15" wheels that are also 4x100 and have the same width as the es. Problem is the mini uses the same screw type lugs as BMW which have the acorn shape, if I get acorn lug nuts do you think it will work? Thanks guys.
