i am looking at possibly buying an evo to play with but i am not sure which one i should get? This will be a project car for my father and I.

Get a GSR, this way you can play with modding it. If you just want a nice Evo to drive then get a fully loaded MR (touring, navi etc).

 

an evo 8. has the 4g63, buy one with a blown motor for $10k, than put $10k into rebuilding a 500whp reliable monster!! i would've done this if i knew how much cheaper it is to start from scratch than dropping $22k on a bone stock 9... hope this helps
