DO NOT BUY FROM TIME AUTOGROUP IN SAN DIEGO!!!! They sell Evo's that they've acquired through auctions. Two of the three Evo's I test drove were ****. One had Transmission problems and the other was smoking to hell with missing peices in the engine bay.

I bought my 2003 BBY Evo 8 with 29,xxx miles from them for more than I should have spent, and they tacked on dealer fees and other bull**** and wouldn't sell the car with a warranty, plus made me sign a bunch of papers saying the car is sold as is. Worst of all, after the drive back to tucson, I took it to a local Evo shop (Archie at PSI) and they had to repair my fuel system. There was rust that formed in the fuel tank, so I had to get that repaired, plus a new fuel pump and there was a rocker that was loose causing my car to misfire due to the exhaust valve not opening.
After about $1200 in repairs and some new tires because the ones they gave me were dry rotting, my Evo finally ran good. If I could go back in time, I would save myself the headache of dealing with these Persian bastards.

I actually went and checked out that exact evo. I took it for a test drive and the clutch made a weird noise starting out from a stop... The milege was just a little high for an out the door price of 22k and the guy was not going to budge. The fact that he had know knowledge of previous work done to the car kinda made me wonder. The car was clean inside and out.. and it has been lingering in my head to go back and check it out again. But maybe i shouldnt after reading this thread.

They claim they've serviced their vehicles, but they really haven't. THIS PLACE IS NOT supported by the BBB (Better Business Bereau) .

Looks great! I'm glad you got this rather than an evo from that shady dealership. Congrats.

Congrats man. Hopefully the mod bug doesn't hit you to hard as it has to me. I spend more time working on my car then driving it. Getting my trans built as we speak lol
