Another N00b From the Middle of Nowhere
I miss my WRX, and I was thinking about getting an Evo as my next budget supercar. I came here to peruse the for sale forums, and find a new ride.
Here are some pictures of my old WRX that wished it was an STi:

What a beast she was.

A bit about me:
- I was a Marine for 4 years and 6 months. Stationed in California for a year, and Okinawa, Japan for 3.5 years.

- I've got a private pilot's license.
- I currently work in IT, and enjoy it most days.
LOL
You never said you picked up an STi over an Evo. You shared pics of your old WRX you WISH was an STi. :-)
I'll bite...So why did you pick up a WRX over an Evo? Price?
Oh...and WELCOME!!!

Mostly availability, honestly. I couldn't find an Evo for sale that I wanted to buy close by (<1000 miles away). I ended up flying to Chicago to pick up the one in those pictures.
Honestly, that car was more STi than WRX. IT had the STi 6 speed, the EJ25 block, and everything else WRX. It was stupid fast, though. That's what happens when you push 26 lbs of boost on the stock internals.
I'd love to find a nice, lightly modded Evo for <20k, and that's what brings me here. I've sent some messages about some cars for sale, but no solid leads yet. Do you have any advice on which models are better than others?

Here are some useful links/threads to read up on.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-ix-merge.html
These threads will point you in the right direction. There are quite a few Evo's for sale in both stockish and built platforms for you to look at. I say stockish because it will be virtually impossible to find a used Evo that has never seen a performance bolt on (not impossible...but difficult!). Most have been modded and are turned back to stock or sold in their current state.
Just a heads up, learn to search for your answers instead of starting new threads (not bashing ya, just saying). It took me a while to figure out how to search for my specific answers...You'll find the most common answer on this thread is "The search button is your friend" or "did you bother searching?" LOL
GL learning more about Evos!! They are great cars and have a ton of potential right out of the box or if properly modded!!!
BTW, nice looking WRX! I test drove one prior to buying my Evo.
