Save, save, save. I'm in the military and would not put myself in debt to mod my car. Too much debt= no security clearance.

Yea I'm fresh to the finance world but I have always been good with my money. I just was curious on how people afford these parts. I myself save and budget. Thanks guys for all your inputs!

You can always sell crack Just save a certain amount each month and buy within your means... it wont get build over night, unless you have big pockets "and overnight parts from Japan" haaha

I import humans into this country illegally and I'm also a sperm donor..kidding.. All seriousness aside, work work work and prioritise! My modding my old car (a Z) came when: I was a single active duty serviceman and saved up money I had after being deployed, setting a specific budget and not living beyond what I could afford. Now that I have kids and a wife I can't just buy parts just whenever.

Well, like everyone else said you (generally) have to work for money, nothing new there. The real answer is budget. You'll find that the amount someone spends on mods is relative to what they spend on other things dependent on how much they value their car relative to how much they value other things. I know people whose only worthwhile asset is their cars, there is no way I could live like that but it's cool for them and they have some awesome cars.

Work and save up then one mod at a time if you can't afford it. No need to rush getting everything at once! Eventually mods here and there lil by lil you will have it all done up. But set your goals so you just do it once aim at how much Hp you would like then save up and work from there.

Not an evo owner but from my current experience with a s2k. Learn your car first before adding mods. You'll be surprise on how much your stock can achieve.

Modding is not cheap, you know the old saying.
"If you've gotta ask you can't afford it"

It took me almost a year just just get some basic bolt ons/tune.

Unless you make stupid money, you just do it stages.

I'm in a tiny hole from my last round of mods, but I couldn't deal with a stock evo x.

I figure since I am going to rape my hand on a regular basis why not get paid for it so I started making my deposits 3 times a week and then donate blood 3 times a week. The 7th day I drink 1 and can barely walk.

Seriously though its all about working. I am a avid user of my credit card but my motto is never charge anything that I don't have the money in my bank account to pay off the day after I charge it. In the past 3 years I have charged over 100k to one credit card and not paid 1 penny in interest. I have gotten 1k in rewards money from my credit card so it is actually them paying me to use their card.
