^ I never understood how people do this. Do you purchase with your cc then go online and pay it off with your debit to avoid interest rate?

Its very simple. You make the purchase with your cc. They send you the bill. You then pay it off in full. As long as you don't carry a balance over to the next month then there is no interest.

That statement does not make any sense when it comes to the OP's question...he isn't asking to buy your wife/girlfriend/child/pet haha

I quit modding a long time ago so it doesn't cost me anything.

Guess your reading level isn't up to par, did you read the rest of the post. ?

It says if you don't have it all at once do it in stages.

Took me a year to save the extra $, maybe for him it will be alot longer.

I read the whole thread.

What advice is there to give other than "Hey, we charge parts to credit cards or we have the money saved up in a bank account and only buy what we can afford to keep out of debt?"

Well I guess that I could be an *** to him like you and say that he cannot afford to mod his car...but that is not really giving him advice.

I thought the interest was already added when you get the bill. I forget how this works now. I finally paid off my cc and during the time I was making monthly payments, I was a month ahead. LOL

Thanks for the reply! Learned something new today!

Yeah use a rewards credit card for EVERYTHING you would usually use a debit card or check for and take advantage of the rewards. Then just pay it off in full each month and you wont pay a cent to the bank in interest. The bank makes their money from Visa/MasterCard each time you use it so they dont mind giving you incentive to use their card.

Modding with credit card is crazy unless your getting cash back or a ton of sky miles.
All I was telling the op was take your time, save the $ a little at a time. Never said go into debt?
I used a chunk of cash that took me a year, if I used a cc I'd still be paying interest.
Some people have a 1 credit or can write it off.
I'm not one of those people.

No offense to anyone but if you don't outright own your car you should not be spending a lot on mods would be my only advice. I have a friend with 2012 WRX premium and he financed the whole amount then started modding it, now he can't keep up with the monthly payment and is getting the car repossessed.

This happens far too frequently... and quite honestly, Good. Your friend wouldn't learn if this didn't happen. Know many people who buy new cars and try modding them to be "cool" and be the "first" with a new car with mods, but when you get it taken away, you just look like an idiot
