Made the switch...
Made the switch...
First post, so I want to apologize in advance if i posted in the wrong section.
New owner of a 2005 Evo VIII MR. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. A few of my friends have EVO VIII's and would let me drive their cars whenever I asked, I soon fell in love, the incredible handling of the car, the practicality and of course the easy to mod factory setup. Previously owned a 2004 350z track edition, full bolt-ons, fat tire setup. Tasteful mods. Loved the car up until I drove an Evo. I built my 350z purely for the track and the Evo instantly made me feel a surge of confidence while driving, I knew I had to have one.
Shortly After, I found a beautiful, mint condition 2005 Evo III MR, although I was initially looking for a 5-speed, this was just too good of a deal to pass up. 38,000 miles, completely stock Evo. I loved the power, FI feel, and the shorter gear ratio's for a great pull.
It was a 4 hour drive to my now owned Evo. I know alot of used Evo's are beaten on and because of 2 of my friends owned them, I had a decent idea of what to look for and what noises, Etc. While test driving, it was perfect, nothing wrong. I mean the car itself was mint inside and out. Mechanically everything was great, or so I thought. A day later, on my way to work, it happened, the infamous Evo T-Case whine. It came on strong, and it's becoming increasingly loud. I haven't beat on the car at all, I mean I literally owned 2 days before this happened. I come to the forums or help, Ideas, solutions? The Dealer threw in a 3 month warranty, would this cover the car if the T-case i'snt broken yet?
On a lighter note, I'm absolutely in love with the car, despite the annoying setback. It feels incredible compared to the 350z, and I haven't and wont look back. Thanks for reading my novel, and for any comments you may have. I'm excited to be apart of the Evo world.
