Hello fellow car enthusiasts!
Hello fellow car enthusiasts!
My name is Josh, I'm a 22 year old student in Utah. I have always loved cars ever since I can remember. I am just now in the position to get my dream car! I currently own a 07 corolla S (commuter) and a 99 2g DSM. I hope to get to know more of you and discuss the finer point of these beautiful machines!
Currently just a act 'street' clutch, injen intake, and a solid core battery with new terminals nothing too drastic. I have the GM MAF that I salvaged off a lumineer while hunting for a 1g BOV, unfortunately no luck finding it though. I'm debating going with the GM MAFT setup with dsmlink. However I've heard things about that setup that makes me lean away from it. Such as having to re tune the car every time the weather changes etc etc.

Sounds like quite the project! GL with that man heh. I don't have the resources to do an engine swap quite yet. I have a pretty decent tool set with jackstands on the way so I have a way to get under the car. No lift though. I live in an apartment, they wouldn't let me do an engine swap anyways haha.
It has been a lot of work so far. I don't have a garage at my house so I have done all the work out front my house.
I've bought all the tools as I went along, still need to get my hands on a good welder. Focused a lot on the body and engine bay this summer. Car is going for paint next weekend. Am going to continue building the engine over the winter inside my house, and then as soon as the snow melts ill be dropping it in next spring.
