Hello everyone,
I don't know what to expect, as i'm really quite new to cars overall, well i haven;t started driving yet either, But i have a situation i need some help with. Please no hate
OKay, So Lets begin, I've been working for like 3-4 yrs nearly now, and i have accumulated a lot of money, I've also just finished high school and i think its time for me to start learning to drive. The problem i'm faced with, is well...
My Parents are really **** and want me to start by getting my manual licence. Thing is we don't own a manual, so they said, they will allow me to buy one Of my own choosing, and help me get it insured ect.
Now, I don't know much about cars at all, Just how fast they go, and usually what they are good for. I've been quite interested into cars recently and started doing a lot of searching. The car i'm looking into buying is of course The Mitsubishi Evo VI
NOw, I've never driven a car before, but my parents are willing to teach me, as well as getting lessons ect... I picked this car because i will be practicing in it, and it will be the car i drive once i'm allowed on the road. (Australian Different road rules ect.) I know this may sound stupid but i'm dead serious. the car costs $15,000 And only has one mod, which is the muffler, It's only done 68,000km. And seems to be in almost show room condition.
Please Opinions?
This is the only car i've ever had this kind of, Love/obsession It looks Beautiful, Its Fast, Its... just. PERFECT....

I've taught quite a few people how to drive a stick in my EVO. With a stock (or near stock) clutch, it's very easy to learn how to drive. Granted I have an 8, but I wouldn't think the 6 is too much different. It's a very fun and easy car to drive. You'll have a lot of fun with it!

Yeah, But it's time to get on the road, and i thought what better way to practise than in the car your actually going to drive
Australian roads, Aren't as busy as other places, especially where i live, Lots of Round abouts, lights. its almost barren too,
Figured it be good

I had a stock 02 WRX and, it had a tendency to understeer quite a bit when pushed to the limit. I have never driven a pre-2003 Evo (obviously) but every AWD car I have driven has done the same thing. So be careful!
Also, no matter what your mates tell you, do not hard-launch the vehicle at every stop light/intersection. Your clutch, diff, tires, and many other mechanical bits of the vehicle will end up failing. With how much Evo parts cost, you will be in better shape down the road.
Hope that helps!
