Opinions on this 8?

I came across this Evo and am pretty interested in it.

http://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/4229187161.html

I was wondering, how long would I be able to go without doing anything to the car?
My other option is a BMW 335i coupe (I have an e46 330ci right now).

I feel as if I'd have to maintain the Evo more frequently than the BMW, but I know the BMW maintenance/parts will be more expensive.

I know the BMW motors will last a long time but I'm still somewhat skeptical on how reliable a 400hp Evo is, with all of those mods done to it.

After how long would something be bound to happen?

I am really interested in an Evo but I just want to be sure that I can drive it for at least a year or two with less than a couple small issues, because I know I could do that with a BMW.

Is there a certain mileage where things might need replacing on the Evo?
Or are most of the mods/parts on it good to go for years and years to come?

It's just going to be my daily driver. I don't normally drive hard around the streets, but occasionally I'll do some hard pulls here and there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

well any used car with modifications are a risk of some kind. see if there are any warranties on the aftermarket pieces or receipts of shop work or anything like that. thats a good place to start.

BMWs are good cars but they are wayyy expensive to maintain, like you said. you might need to fix a couple things here and there but that will still probably be cheaper than fixing one BMW part. i personally would like the evo over the BMW just because of the "fun" factor and im used to having cars with other people's mods that may or may not hold up... but im a girl so that really doesnt count lol

good luck!!

Since it looks like your close to English Racing bring it to them and have them inspect it. Compression, leaks etc.

I wouldn't pay more than 17k for it

Yeah it is an 03. Even though it has some nice mods on it, it shouldn't make the price higher. i would say 18k would be good for it being only 77k miles. But, have a evo shop check it out first. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. Are all of these parts good for a long time? Would I have to worry about replacing/repairing anything for a while?
