Hello from Scotland! Here's my TME.
WW-GSR As long as you don't end up sounding like Mr Scott from Star Trek all will be cool.
Ah just canna ddoooooo it Capatan, I cannnaa change tha lawes o'physics....
Most Americans use Scott as the reference, either him or Groundskeeper Willie...
kada__85 It was a DIY job. I used wrinkle black paint, which I baked on at about 200 degrees. I did NOT use my wife's kitchen oven for this. That would have been disasterous for my sexual activity. However, the high temp curing process did the job and all I had to do was to polish up the lettering.

I also NEVER use the dishwasher to clean engine parts. Again if I was ever found out to be doing this my sexual activity would be reduced to popular websites and kleenex...

Ahem....

Greetings Americans!
Apologies for the VAST length of time between my last post, and this update. This is because I'm shockingly lazy at updating forums! Basically, I got home just after new year, and then got all the stuff done on the TME before the missus decided I have to re-decorate half the house.
Sooo... first things first. The underside. Now, as I've stressed before I'm not a huge fan of salting the roads. But as they're going to go and do it anyways, I thought I'd best protect the car from corrosion so I can actually drive it.
The process was..
Remove running gear from front subframe back.
Key up the OEM paint.
2 coats of Rust Bullet (Awesome stuff BTW, take a bow America
)
All seams sealed with Tetra-Seal
3 coats of u-Pol gravitex stone guard
Clean everything and rebuild.
Onto the pics!
The Before pics. As you can see, there was some surface rust appearing after only 3000 miles, and only 100 winter miles!!

Underside was then painted with Rust Bullet, seam sealed and then given 3 coats of U-Pol gravitex.

Then built back up.

I thnk you'll see that the end result is MORE than worth the money to do the job. And it was nowhere near as costly as I thought it would be, it certainly cost less than the value it has added to the car... :thumb:
Hang fire, got one more update to come.

Next thing to do was take it back to original wheels, and add the OE stripes!

I have to say, I do like stripes!!
And as I live in Scotland, I thought I'd take advantage of some of the roads nearby and go for a blast!

That's where I'm up to. Next up will be some engine related work, and new suspension as BC's are pish!
Cheers!
