New here and need help!

Always wanted an Evo to be my first car that i would buy, saved up enough and got a 03 evo 8.

I'm new to the tunner scene. Have had a mustang this whole time.

Tial turbo
Spectre intake
Greddy bost controller
greddy turbo timer
pro comp gauges

The boost gauge works but Air/Fuel dosent nor does pyrometer gauge.

Some help on how to check that out would be awesome.

I'm a do it yourself kind of guy and want to make this thing a monster so any advice on building my car would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome. A few things. There is a great thread here about modding your evo. If you want a good start get these:

-3" Downpipe
-Test pipe or High Flow Cat
-3" Catback Exhaust
-Lower Intercooler Pipe
-a good tune

Tial turbo? Post some pics and we could probably ID it for you, because as far as I know, tial only makes turbine housings. Also get a good working Wideband (not a useless narrowband afr gauge) and getting your car dyno tuned by a reputable shop is probably the best first thing to do. They can also look over your car and give you some tips!

More details on the gauge issue would be helpful for the diagnosis, no power, no signal? Typically you can just follow the wires and find the problem.

Welcome! Search and read this forum and you will find the answer to many of your questions.

Is the air/fuel gauge a wideband or narrowband? If it is a narrowband you can just throw it away.

EGT's/Pyrometers are also pretty useless in my opinion. If you see things getting too hot, it is probably already too late. However, a wideband Air/Fuel is very usefully to have.

As for a build, do some research, keep your eyes open for deals of the right parts.
Ask yourself these questions: how streetable do I want the car? Will it mainly be used for straight line racing or track/autocross racing? How much HP do I want? Install as much as you can on your own, then take it to a professional to have it tuned.

Best of luck!
