newbie please help :/

OK I'm new to the forum and I have tried to research and I can not seem to find the answer I'm looking for. So if I am looking at buying a new evo everyone says try to get one that is not already modded however it seems like every evo on earth is. I already have an evo in mind(family member of a friend is passively selling his just shy of 100k miles ) but anyways what are some red flags ? Noises or things to look for when buying an evo . what is something that I should expect to be broken? Basically is there anything special I should be looking for or trying to avoid ?

Check all service records / have an independent mechanic. The $100 you spend getting it looked over is worth it, just be ready to walk away if you have to. There is always another car for sale, just gotta find it.
