Greetings EvoMians

Hi everyone, I'm Bruce and I drive an 05 Evo VIII. And much like me it is getting old and high in mileage. Also like me it's beginning to break sometimes. I hope you don't mind me searching for answers or asking for help cause I'm a fixer not a trader. Now that parts need replacing, I look forward to enhancing performance at the same time(no oem stuff going back in.)

hello and welcome. what is the mileage? if it has high mileage, i would suggest to get it rebuilt prior to doing any performance building.

88 thou and change. Unfortunately the trans broke last Thursday. A forum search leads me to believe a broken shift fork. It's cold and I have a truck to drive so it's parked until the weather breaks. I am shopping parts. Thought I might as well do clutch, pressure plate, lighter flywheel, etc. Also checking into lsd as well although I thought I read once the RS already has one. I did the timing belt, water pump, pulleys and all a couple months ago just to be proactive maintenance wise. I would like to keep it's street manners, and maybe pick up a 100 hp if possible. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am a weight loss advocate also and would like to hear any ideas on that too. Always thought of it as a win win win win. Better fuel economy, acceleration, handling, and stopping.

Came upon the "Modding for Dummies" post or something to that effect. Takes care of that advice.
