Bought my dream car!!!
Congradulations! It's great to see there are fellow car guys in Ontario, which makes Onterrific just so much more terrific. =D
I think the process is that you get a recall clearance letter, mail the title+bill of sales+registration to the US CBP to get the title stamped, show the recall clearance letter and the above papers to CBSA, then complete and submit the vehicle import form (form 1), correct?
And then of course we would go to Crappy Tires when get the mailed federal inspection form (form 2) for the Statement of Compliance and register the car.
How is your experience of importing the car?

For sure
- there aren't too many Evo's around here, and I always get really excited when I see one.The importing process took more time then I originally thought because there are quite a few steps involved. The dealer I purchased my Evo from was helpful though - they provided me with the temporary transit plates, and sent the recall clearance letter to the border ahead of time for me.
Your steps are correct, but I brought the title, bill of sale, proof of insurance and registration to the US CBP to get the title stamped. Also, make sure that you email the US CPB 72 hours before you cross otherwise they won't let you export the vehicle to Canada.
The inspection at Crappy Tires was such a waste of time lol. I paid them a 100 bucks for it, and I'm not sure whether I am happy that they never even looked at my car.
If you would like I could post a guide I made myself when importing my Evo.

There is not much information about importing an Evo to Canada in any forums. As the result, people have been poking around to try out their luck. If you have a full guide to post, you can even consider posting it in the EvoM's Canadian regional forum, so many of us will benefit from it!
Please, that will be much appreciated!

Congrats to the OP.
As for evos sold in Canada, they have the 2008 and up Evo X at the mitsu dealers. But in my experience the pricing is high even after all the hassle of the import fees and they love to sell cars that aren't what they seem, aka list off all these items from a model higher, all the sales gimmicks eh. Put graphics saying GT or GTS or Rally Art and sell a base model with these graphics, as a higher package. Blah.
THe evo 7-9 were never sold in Can but are allowed to be imported as what I will be doing asap.
The evo 1-5 are now allowed imported from Japan so anything from 15+ years.

Congrats on your purchase. After reading the forums and watching every single evo x related video on youtube I too pulled the trigger and purchased an apex silver 2014 gsr with 5 miles on it. The car drives just as I expected. This too is my first adult purchase now that my student loans are paid off and I have a full time job.
Hey, thanks again guys
I put together a guide detailing how to import a 2014 Evo X based off of my own experiences.
You can check out the guide in the Canadian sub forum:

Congrats on the purchase.
+1 for another Evo in Ontario. It's good that you didn't support the local dealers here. There is absolutely zero price justification. If anyone wants to point at the weak CAD dollar, then that is now... a couple of months ago, our dollar was higher than the USD. No prices were adjusted back then.
If I were ever to buy an Evo, it would for sure be from the US.
