Do you have a turbo timer?
I think the subject about says it all. Please answer as it may help me in showing the district rep. that a turbo timer is a very common thing in these cars.
i dont have one, but i was thinking about getting one but decided not to because i keep the car in the garage all the time and i cant have a car idling in the garage because the carbon monoxide will fill the garage and leak into the house
Believe it or not, both the sales and service managers at the dealer I bought from suggested it
as the first thing to add.
They both wondered of all the other dealer installed options, why this wasn't one from mitsu direct.

have one, haven't yet installed it but will when time allows
I also wondered why the dealers don't offer 'em....a lot more people would get them if the dealers sold 'em, I think

The dealers would charge alot for turbo timer, get one from ebay, with harness, well i got lucky i got mine for free - from a friend old greddy i got the harness from 95-99 mitsu eclipse (fits fine)- install was really simple...
i have one. You will hear people saying you're an idiot if you need one. But it makes sense for some people. My wife may drive the car and not know to idle it (I know she wont). I set mine to like 50 seconds. No probs. I've owned a previous turbo awd car with one. Never had problems. It has the safety of the e-brake wire. If that wire ever gets disconnected it will shut off. I shut my garage door while it's idling. By the time the door actually closes, it idles only for about 10 seconds max in the garage. But by the time you come home and idle it, the car is warm and the exhaust is fairly clean assuming you still have your cat. I dont think you have to worry about CO unless you idle it for like 10 minutes and your baby's room is next to the garage.
My dealer suggested it too. They wont offer one themselves cuz of possible litigation. 'My car caught on fire cuz of the turbo timer'.. they'd have to prove otherwise.
