2015 wrx or Evo X?

Okay obviously I'm expecting very bias answers here considering the site, but im shopping around for a new car and I'm debating between a used 2010+ Evo X Gsr or a brand new 2015 wrx and can't decide, the wrx is cheaper and more in my budget, and it would be nice hanving a brand new car, but i'e wanted the evo forever, and obviously its more powerful. Anyone have any input or personal experience that could help me decide?

I drove around in the wrx and it's not bad at all felt fast, I think it was like 300hp stock.

I had a Evo X also and I hated it.

For the price a brand new WRX is probably your best bet. You are essentially getting a brand new car for what you would be getting a 2-3 year old evo.

I can almost guarantee you speed wise they are going to be very close in a straight line too.

Now if you decide you can afford a little more, I'd get the last of the awesome evo's, a 2014 version.

You are asking evo owners this question? Well. I do see advantages in getting a brand new car vs an older year evo. But Evo all the way for me.

I like the new Wrx but you might want to wait until a 2016 model as I've heard they have some issues and it is usually best to wait as the manufacturer works out the bugs from the first year model. The X has grown on me but seems like most people are not happy with them especially if they went from an 8/9 to one.

If you're thinking of getting a used Evo instead of a brand new one then might as well get the '15 Wrx. The price of used X would already be near or equal to the amount of a brand new Wrx.

I would say hold off and consider a Ford Focus RS

Just drive a beater for a while (its about to be winter anyways) and save your money. Once Ford starts taking orders get in early. If its truly a 2016 model year, the first ones will likely land summer 2015.

Test drive will tell you 100% that EVO is the way to go.

Go drive a MR in Sport mode with the traction control off. Then go drive new WRX (or STI) with equivalent settings.

You will quickly see the difference. I drove the new STI and EVO MR back-to-back and the STI was like a mushy turd in comparison. I do like the styling on the new WRX/STI though...And the exhaust note from factory is much nicer....but handling/power/driver enjoyment (for me at least) EVO wins.

Just my .02

If you do decide on the Evo, you should consider the "special edition" that will be NA exclusive next year. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/lo...ore-power.html

It will probably be a few thousand more (I would guess 3-5k), but will likely hold its value better since its going to be a limited production/the end of an era sort of thing.
