Moving onto bracing the car up. Any advice?

I only have the stock engine bay strut brace at the moment. Which ones should I prioritise putting in first?

Thanks

IMHO, most bolt on braces have questionable effects on chassis rigidity. Did I mention I run some of the braces

The only bolt in brace that I know made a diff, was the rear roll bar

Never have I seen a real engineering evaluation using strain gauges or dial indicators on the effects on the myriad of the available braces

What are your plans for the EVO

Lots of good info in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...eakpoints.html

Just to give you some quick advice-don't start throwing money at chassis bracing until you have sorted out all other suspension components first. Things like bushings, sway bars, camber plates, full blown coilovers just to name a few are money well spent and should all be addressed prior to chassis bracing. Im not saying all chassis braces are useless, but there are much better bang for the buck upgrades that you should do prior.

None. So many better mods. The evo has a stiff chassis as it is.

Yes. Even in stock configuration I was happy to see the rear wheel follow and lifted when I jack up the front wheel. Chassis doesn't flex that much.

The only bracing that I have heard good results from are the front fender braces (from a prominent evo road racer) . But like stated above there are so many better things to do. Bracing should be last on the list or near the bottom.

Agreed, fender braces and that's about all you'd need

Thumbs up Works for me!

Here's what I have on my Evo IX-MR:

*WORKS front strut tower brace.
*WORKS 3-point trunk cage with added Cusco multi-mounted triangular trunk bar making a 4-point cage.
*Cusco front sway bar.
*ROBI SPEC 4-way adjustable rear sway bar.
*Cusco 7-point street cage.
*Every Cusco chassis under brace made for the CT9A.
*Tanabe under brace that mounts near rear wheels (attaches to the end of the Cusco bracing.
*Nagisa Fender Bars

I love the way the car handles. Along with my FortuneAuto coil overs, I hate having to park the car, I just want to drive! I have taken it on long cruises, done "spirited drives" and still love it! I would recommend ANY, or ALL these bars! It was my daily driver for many years with all of the above bracing. Corners will be your best friends! The "experts" () are going to attack this, but I don't care, it works for me and that is all I am saying to you...Good luck in your decision!

I think we have all been "Waffled". The OP is long gone

I too have heard directly from "Robi" that the front fender braces are a worthy mod. Aside from seam welding & a roll cage the other braces maybe as good as blowing in the wind
