Do you want 400, 450, or 500 max or those numbers with little effort? Do you have a build motor currently? Do you have e85 available?

Since you want to be spoon-fed answers, I'd just go to a local shop and talk to them

It broke on me one year ago, then I applied some epoxy to stick it back together, and never broke since.

I think it breaks because the piece moves a tiny bit out of place every time the fuel door release is pulled. Every time I open it, I always check (and end up having to push the clip a millimeter back into place), and it has lasted for a while.

I know by posting this mine is going to break the next time I use it but I don't understand why some of you are having issues with it. Mine has never been replaced and seems fine. Could just be some bad luck or your actual gas door is bent in a way that is causing extra stress on it maybe?

Regardless, its a $3 dollar part and takes 2 seconds to swap. Sucks but it could be worse.

Mine breaks a lot too, I usually go to the dealer and buy a few at a time. Thank God they're not that expensive. Is there no other option, maybe from a different Mitsubishi or other car that would fit and not break off every 6 months?

Any 2g eclipse will have the same part if you're ever at a junk yard.

Except it might be less of a pain to just go to the dealership and pay $3

i keep pushing mine back in each time i open the door. so far, so good.

as mentioned above, i think it breaks when it loosens and works it's way out which puts stress on the plastic part.

In the small amount of time that I've had my Evo, my gas clip ended up breaking. My mechanic ended up ordering a $8 clip for me, told me it was more "heavy duty". Haven't had any trouble since then, but until I did get it replaced, I could only pop the gas door with assistance. Had a friend lodge a credit card in the gap of the door and hold it there, then I would lift the gas door lever. Pretty tedious for something like filling up.

The one man method:

Pop door, wedge something under lever, go open door.
Yeah. I've been there, done that. LOL
