Another unicorn trashed...

Hey guys...well i trashed a unicorn yesterday. 03 evo 8, red, 64k miles, clean as hell...i wiped out into a guardrail yesterday and shes toasted. To top it off, i just got the great news that the car never had collision insurance, even tho i discussed all this with geico way back when i bought the car...partout coming i suppose

Fix it. Cost me about $2,000 after I wrecked mine into a guard rail.

$330 for a new core support from Mitsubishi
$300 for FRP covers from Meuller
$100 for widebody front fenders from a local guy
$40 for a hacked front bumper
$120 for a hood with a crease in it
$100 for a Mishimoto radiator
$100 for my buddy to paint the fenders, hood and bumper.

Turned out like this

Took me about 10 days of 2-3 hours of wrenching every day after work to get it like that.

Might consider trying to find a clean rolling shell to transfer your parts into. Replacing broken stuff as needed.

I would see how bad the front frame rails are bent before writing it off. It may not be as bad as you think. Sucks though, good luck.

no idea, maybe the OP just wants to share his misfortune with the brotherhood

I dont unberstand the part about not having insurance? you either pay for insurance or you dont and the insurance company sends you a statement each year to renue it.

Yea i honestly just wanted to share a misfortune. This is why i hate forums, you guys act like your all buds with similar interests but theres always a ********** with negative comments tryin to be a badass... The insurance thing was a total mistake. Turns out ive been paying for liability for a year. I thought it was cheap but i also put it as a recreational vehicle for every now and then kinda use. When i added it to my policy i told them i had a loan on the car i guess i just assumed i was getting full coverage. Now the credit union is pissed lol but ill be making my payments so no big deal. Life goes on

This!
Sorry for your loss! Have it looked at by a professional with a chassis straightening machine. Don't completely right her off just yet. Explore ALL possibilities! She is rare at that mileage and color...Sending you a PM. Don't let the negativity from here get to you...Some are just like that...'Hang in there!

theoretically, your bank is supposed to notify you if there isn't full coverage on it, and after enough notifications, they put their own (very expensive) insurance on it, then add it to the payment. Ignorance isn't a good excuse-but-you could certainly ask how it was that never happened. Because now, too, the bank isn't going to get paid for the car either. Unless you pay it off yourself.

really though, if the engine and trans wasn't hit, that bodywork is not as bad as you might think.

Anyways, welcome to evoM man!

Nope my ignorance is no excuse at all... But it was definAtly a mistake. I never even wrote and mailed them a check, i went in person every month and paid on the spot since its on the way home from work. Never one word...well get her all sorted out one way or another, even if its parting out the interior, caging it and tubin the frontend then hang some panels over a huge turbo lol

Man that sucks! I would never want to experience that feeling of finding out it was nevered covered under my insurance. Time to put carbon fiber front end though!
