Maaco is about $400-500 these days.

The restoration shop I used to work in was a "mid level" shop and most customers would be in the $8,000-15,000 range.

Your question is far to vague as well. Do you want engine bay, door jams, trunk jam painted as well? Single stage? Are you going to vat the car to remove all paint? Simply sand it down and re-spray? Will there be bodywork as well? Pearl clear coat? How much finishing (Wet sanding/orbital) time are you building in?

There you go, an actual answer for a question you invested 4 seconds into typing. Now go do some actual research into the matter.

Depends how much time you want the body shop to commit to your car in prep. 1hr-40hrs??

Bad idea. your far better looking around for the actual color you want. A good job will cost you around half the cost of the car itself.

I see. So it would be totally worth while to spend a gran or more for the color of the ride.

Would it actually lower the "value" of the car if it's re-sprayed? Eg, raising questions if the car was involved in an accident etc...
